Give Away Perry Belcher’s Money

Ok, I need your help.
I’m giving away some money.
Not so much, just $100 every week to a really good cause.
I hope this will inspire other people, especially other marketers to do the same.
What I need from you are ideas. Who should I give the money to?
I prefer to gift directly to people in need but will consider organizations. Each weeks the person or organization that is awarded the cash will be featured on this new blog and Tweeted about so more people can help.
I’ll be asking lots of questions and taking votes in the comments area so come back a lot.
Go ahead and make your best case below…

Hi Perry.
What a great idea. I am one of Mari Smith’s mentoring social media masters
Nice to meet you. Thanks for all the great content and the fantastic leadership move! I vote for http://darknesstolight.org. Of course it is sadly a taboo subject but nonetheless one that needs support as the numbers are mind blowing. Awareness and support will help future generations of tweeters actually have a chance at tweeting something intelligent because their self worth will be in tact :). Great work Perry.
Just read the website and you will have all of the answers you need as to Why. Thank you

What a good start. I’ll read more into this. Not taboo at all, probably needs to be talked about more. - Perry Belcher
Hey Lisa, Didn’t get a link
Acoustic singer and song writer Veronika
Jackson just received the Augusta Heritage
Center Scholarship.
She’s now on a deadline to raise an additional
$800-$1,000 for transportation, and room and
board for the time she’s there.
You can learn more it at her site…

I know she’ll be very thankful and grateful.
Have an awesome weekend!

Perry, have you considered micro loans like Kiva (http://www.kiva.org/)?
Let me try this again. Submitting this on behalf of 2dogs2000miles. The website is http://www.2dogs2000miles.org and is an amazing story. Luke Robinson is walking from Austin to Boston for Canine Cancer.
Awesome idea Perry! It’s tough to say who to give it to. You already give away so much. The $100 is the fish. But you already teach people how to fish. If they don’t learn from you already, a hundred bucks probably won’t do them much good.
I’m raising money for WaterAid America. My goal is to raise $5,000 for them. Basically this charity provides clean drinking water to people in Africa and Asia. I contribute money personally every time I make a book sale or sell a seat in a teleseminar. How about Friendship Circle…. A great organization that helps families that have children with special needs. http://www.friendshipcircle.org
My vote goes to http://www.dogsforthedeaf.org/ While based in Sourhtern Oregon (just down the road from me) The pups they train travel all over the world.
What a great idea!

Rob
Yep, Already loan at kiva.org Been doing that for about 2 years. I Love it! - Perry Belcher
Give the money to First Place for Youth - http://www.firstplaceforyouth.org/ - this organization takes kids who have aged out of the foster care system and helps them get their first jobs, gives them housing and becomes the safety net for a huge population that has no safety net.
The majority of these kids end up homeless or in jail within 2 years of aging out of the system. FPFY is making a huge difference in this under-served population.
Wow, what a remarkable idea! You should give money to a small skateboard shop in up-state NY. The owner has been contemplating on closing the business for a few days now. Sad thing is, he opened up only 3 weeks ago. Thanks!

Hi Perry,
I feel whomever you share with will already make a difference. One week, it could be an organization, the next a person, etc. Whomever you share your kindness with will benefit so much.
A personal friend of mine has his story as well.

Kudos for making this world a better place. Onwards and upwards!
Thanks for listening.

PS. Kiva.org, very cool, very cool indeed.

Since you’re already taking part in Kiva, have you considered donating money to a listener supported radio station you listen to frequently?
Hey Perry.
To help with your research on http://www.darknesstolight.org..check out their current media campaign. Ann Heche is now Standing up for the Cause….this makes me very happy! Powerful voice behind the movement
Perry:
I’ve watched and listened to many of your videos, audios, and e-books. You are a terrific instructor and I’m glad to see that you are giving back a little.
I just want to encourage people to help as many people as they can - quietly.
I’ll find some people with good charities for you. Good call!
You should donate the money to Green Belt Movement.org. They plant trees, they have already planted more than 4 million trees. Its founder Wangari Mahtai won the Nobel Prize for Peace. First enviromentalist to win such prize. She is great. She has inspired many countries to plant trees and care for their enviroment. http://wwwGreenBeltMovement.org

I actually ended up funding $300 more in kiva.org loans, Thanks
How about the Grameen Foundation ?
